Early release today, so only a 45 minute class. I downloaded a research paper by Burbage, Burbage, Fowler, and Hoyle entitled Synthesis of the Elements in Stars and read some of it. But it's 108 pages long so it might take a while.

After getting my internship badge, I spent the rest of the class redrafting my common app essay. It looks good, man.

I spent this class looking at more colleges as well as application supplements for a few. I also used their essay topics as inspiration for a common app essay, and I am going to write an outline for my paper tonight.

13 September 2012
I spent essentially all class period thinking about new topics for my Common App essay. I'm really having trouble coming up with something good. However, I made a list of possible topics and I tried free-writing (just writing down whatever comes to mind) for 15 or so minutes at a time. I think with a little more work and focus I'll come up with something good. I guess I need to start thinking about my thesis topics a bit more too, so I have something good to present.

I have been talking with Ms Maner about my recommendation, and sent her my resumé today. I also began to sort my college list into Reach, 50-50, and Safety schools and will go over this further with my parents. I began my NMSC application and updated some Common App info.

I updated much of my Common App info, and made an ApplyTexas account. I then went on collegeprowler and researched USC, Stanford, and Brown. USC seems like a pretty nice school, and obviously you can't beat Stanford. Didn't really find Brown very interesting.
5 September 2012 (late post)
I wrote an email to Mrs. Maner asking if she would write me a recommendation. I had discussed this with her before the summer. Then I went to collegeprowler.com and researched Columbia, Berkeley, Tulane, and UT.
